These next few mixes are going to be a bit of a break from my usual Commercial Club tracks.
Instead I'm revisiting my past (so excuse me while I indulge myself, but I really wanted to put a BEST OF mix together with some of my favourite ever tracks)
When I first started heading out to the clubs during the 90's and early noughties - the music that bought me the most pleasure were those high energy tracks and euphoric trance with soaring vocals - the kind of feel good hands in the air music that really can't be matched anymore.
I only just realised JUST how much I missed that kind of music at this year's Toybox party.
This was Toybox's last year in Sydney and it must be the only dance party that I can think of that still plays this kind of music. It was a testament to the popularity of this party that it sold out months beforehand and was the hottest ticket around at this year's Sydney Mardi Gras (no-one was asking "Are you going to Mardi Gras this year" - instead everybody was asking "Are you going to Toybox?", or "Do you have a spare Toybox ticket?")
Over the next week, I'll upload a 90min mix a day - so for those around during those days, these mixes should bring back some great memories. And for those of you who are new to this, then you'll have some idea of the kind of music a lot of us grew up with.
